Pay close attention to what is asked. What does Rev. Veazey want you to consider or research? Do not make the mistakes some students do by trying to answer or write a paper on something that has not been asked.
Authoritative resources
In Opinion papers and Research papers your sources must be documented along with any Scripture references as you formulate your argument. This is how you will build and give weight to your argument.
You must use authoritative resources to build upon. If you are building a Christian argument on an issue the number one authoritative resource you could use would be scripture text. You might also use resources from church councils or stances of your church or even resent sermons.
Other forms of authoritative resources are laws of the nation, state or local government. Even non-written laws or moral codes can be used as authoritative resources. Parent or grand parent views on issues can also take the form of authoritative recourse; however, they are subordinate resources to scripture.
Particulars for Paper
· Length of the paper will be assigned … make sure you follow the instructions. A sentence or a paragraph on one page does not count as a full page.
· Write in paragraph form. Use paragraphs when writing papers. (this is a MUST)
· Include Scripture references to build your argument
· Include other authoritative sources to build your argument
· Sources MUST be documented (including web sites from internet sites)
· Double spaced with a font size of 12 in Times New Roman
· Regular margins – 1 inch in size
· NEVER cut and paste from the internet. This is plagiarism and is an honor code violation
